Maldives : Fun Under the Indian Ocean Sun
Maldives is known for its beautiful little islands, multi colored blue ocean, and of course as one of the most famous honeymoon destinations.
I personally never thought about going to Maldives. It just doesn't seem to be my kind of destination. Not much of an adventure or anything. Honestly I never really try to find out as well.
Until one day, a friend of mine from Maldives Hemat, a travel company who runs trips to Maldives, asked me to join one of their trips. So i give it a shot, without any expectation.
We spent 4 days there, and well I think I understand now why this place is so special to many people.
Here are some shots from my trip in Maldives.
The first part of the trip was islands hoping. We were staying in Maafushi Island, and a boat picked us up for our islands hoping trip. On the way, we had some stops for snorkeling, dolphin watching and also a little relaxing time on a sand bank.
We also spent a day on Oulhuveli Resort, and no we didn't stay there. It was just a day trip to a beautiful beach resort. We can use all the facility in the resort during the day trip. Me and a few others tried to explore this resort for some photos, while the other were chillin' in the infinity pool. The most interesting part of this resort was they have these rooms above the water, and they are all connected by some sort of bridge, and when we were walking around, there are just so many fishes swimming around. There are also some reef sharks and sting rays! So cool. I think these kind of resorts are one of the main reasons why people are coming to Maldives. It is just so relaxing and so beautiful, that I think I could just spend a lot of days here just doing nothing.
I also spent a bit of time exploring Maafushi Island during our days there. A morning sunrise walk during in this tiny island when there were not anybody around and also a stargaze session. I was surprised by the night sky there. It was just very clear with so little noise pollution.
On our last day we went to the capital, Male. Strolling around the city and experiencing the life of the locals there. Such a great walk around the city. Great way to experience the local vibe away from the touristy side.
Maldives is a place for everyone to enjoy a laidback island life. It's just a different kind of adventure for me. Less intense yet still very fun.
It is very touristy, but honestly I don't really feel that at all. Since most of the time, the tourist are so spread out through out the islands.
It has been a proper fun.
